Steps to becoming an Assistant Guide Outfitter

Basic Eligibility Criteria

Beginning April 1, 2015 an assistant guide licence issued by government is no longer a requirement, nor available. In order to be an Assistant Hunting Guide, a person must:

  • be eighteen (18) years of age or older,
  • pass the assistant hunting guide qualification exam (see Guide Outfitters Association of BC Website)
  • pay the fee for the exam,
  • be employed by a licensed Guide Outfitter,
  • carry a written authorization issued by the employing Guide Outfitter.
